The late Dr. Rozalyn Paschal established the foundation of what would become Miami’s historic black medical practice. Dr. Paschal earned her medical doctoral degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine in 1975 and completed her residency at Hôpital Jackson Memorial. She achieved board certification through the Académie américaine de pédiatrie, demonstrating her commitment to the highest standards of pediatric care.

In 1977, Dr. Paschal joined the practice of Dr. Dazelle Simpson, the first board-certified black pediatrician in Florida, who had begun serving the community since 1953. Dr. Paschal’s dedication to her patients and the Miami community was unwavering, and in 1995, she purchased the practice, ensuring its continuation as a cornerstone of pediatric care in South Florida.
